Established in 1979, the Lyons-Muir Historical Museum is located at 309 E. Bridge Street, Lyons, Michigan 48851.

Events
Museum Hours/Visitors– Due to the lack of available volunteers, the Museum (309 E. Bridge St., Lyons, MI) no longer has regular “open” hours, but it is open “by appointment” and we have hosted a number of visitors looking for information about their ancestors and wanting to see the Museum exhibits. The Museum also has been and continues to be “open” during various community events, such as the summer 2026 Island Fest and downtown Cruise-In Classic Car Show. Museum visits will continue to be scheduled by appointment (Ph. 517/230-7730 or 989/855-2472).
LMHS Fundraising Activities – The LMHS has again been participating in the 2026 Lyons Farm Markets (2nd & 4th Thursday afternoons each month from May through October), maintains a vendor booth at the Ionia Riverbank Treasures shop, and will be hosting the Christmas Bazaar & Open House at the Museum on Friday, December 4th, from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Weaving Classes – These classes, using the Museum’s antique looms and taught by Suzanne Carpenter of Comstock Park, are on-going and open to members and others (free/no charge) most Wednesdays during the spring/summer/fall (Ph. 517/230-7730 if interested).
Ionia Free Fair (IFF) Display – The LMHS participated in the 2026 IFF, with LMHS member Cindy Billips setting up an exhibit (i.e., paper dress and other 1960’s Museum items) in the Floral Building “Antique Village” for this year’s theme of “Flower Power”.
