Established in 1979, the Lyons-Muir Historical Museum is located at 309 E. Bridge Street, Lyons, Michigan 48851.

(New time!) Monthly Membership Meetings are at 4:00 p.m. on the 2nd Monday of each month (March thru December) at the Museum, 309 E. Bridge Street.

Events

Spring Into the Past – Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3, 2026 from 1:00p – 4:00p. Our 2025-2026 theme, Tracing Our Routes: The Roads, Rivers, Rails, and Trails That Shaped Our Communities, celebrates America’s 250th anniversary!

Lyons Township District Library Connection – The LMHS and Lyons Township District Library will again be partnering to give area kids an opportunity to tour the Historical Museum this summer, as part of the Library’s “America250” activities.  The Library is also continuing to work with the LMHS on its local history archive digitation project, for easy access via the Library’s website (lyons.michlibrary.org).

Lyons Farm & Cottage Market – The LMHS will again be participating in the Lyons Farm Markets (2nd & 4th Thursday afternoons each month from May through October.

Local Events – The museum will be open for the Island Fest & Christmas By The River. Dates and times of these other events coming soon.

Weaving Classes – These classes, using the Museum’s antique looms and taught by Suzanne Carpenter of Comstock Park, are on-going and open to members and others (free/no charge) most Thursdays during the year (Ph. 517/230-7730 if interested).

Ionia Free Fair (IFF) Display – The 2026 IFF is scheduled for July 16-25, and the LMHS again expects to participate in the “Antique Village” displays area of the Floral Building.  Please plan to attend the Fair and visit the Antique Village!
